Dr. Micaela Love is the PK-12 Principal at Barker Central School and a dedicated educational leader committed to fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments. With experience as a high school assistant principal and an elementary teacher, she has worked in both rural and urban settings, refining her expertise in school leadership, culturally sustaining practices, and continuous improvement processes. Dr. Love earned her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from D’Youville University, where her dissertation, Enhancing School Codes of Conduct Through a Culturally Sustaining Lens: A Professional Development Workshop, focused on equipping educators and school leaders with the tools to critically evaluate and revise school codes of conduct through a culturally responsive perspective. Grounded in Critical Race Theory and the Community Cultural Wealth model, her research emphasizes the importance of equity, inclusivity, and restorative approaches in school discipline policies. In addition to her leadership role, Dr. Love is a skilled facilitator of professional development, guiding educators in creating sustainable systems that position teachers as experts in fostering positive school climates, and leading teams through instructional change processes. She designs and leads interactive, research-based learning experiences tailored to the needs of adult learners, with a passion for ensuring all students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
