About me

Joanna Burt-Kinderman has been a math teacher and teacher of math teachers for a quarter century (whoa!). She is a project lead and developer of NSF Noyce-funded Mountaineer Mathematics Master Teachers (M3T), a network improvement community of teacher-leaders across West Virginia that grows from her ongoing district math coaching work for Pocahontas County Schools in West Virginia. Joanna was named a “Leader to Learn From” for 2019 by the editorial board of Education Week. She lives in the house she grew up in with her husband, two girls and dog Theo. In her spare time, she plays upright bass and loves her bluegrass, old time and rock-n-roll bands in equal measure.
